So this weekend turned out to be quite amazing having visited some really good eateries. One of them was Bombay Canteen at Lower Parel. It’s a charming place that reminds you of Old Bombay with its mosaic tiled flooring and art-deco styled stained glass panels. The restaurant is a big and bright, welcoming space - a nice change from the cramped, dark spaces Mumbai is known for.

We went there for lunch and of course the place was completely packed so had to wait at the bar for almost 45minutes (definitely suggest booking a table beforehand) but in the meanwhile we got to enjoy some great drinks.

‘Mango & Mint’ Ice Tea, ‘Muskalandar’, ‘Meri Taai’ & ‘Holy Basil’
Beers on tap are always a plus for me; although I wish they were served more chilled especially in this Mumbai heat. The starters comprise of quirky Mumbaiya style street food but with a twist which could make the menu a tad too confusing to get a read on.
Full marks though, on quality of the food and presentation.

Spicy Chettinad Chicken

Aloo Bravas

Cheese Stuffed Grilled Chilles

Choriz Bunny Pao

Tava Chicken “Kothu Roti”

Tandoori Pork Spare Ribs

Coffee Rasgulla with Caramel Ice cream and Peanut Chikki

Jackfruit Tan-Ta-Tan with Cashew Ice cream
All in all it was a great experience matched with good service, amazing ambience and very tasty food. Would definitely suggest this place for everyone to try out at least once!
